When it comes to your skin, there are numerous precautions you should take to keep skin healthy. While cleaning and moisturizing the skin are ways to make the skin look better, you should also be aware of the things that can harm your skin as well. Being aware of some of the biggest threats to your skin will help you keep your skin healthy, beautiful and protected from harm. Here are some of the six biggest threats that your skin can face.

Tanning and Sun Damage

Tanning booths are one of the biggest threats to your skin. Many people decide to tan in a tanning booth prior to heading to the beach or a vacation where they will be in the sun a lot, so their skin doesn’t burn when they are outside. Although this is a preventative measure designed to keep skin healthy it is actually horrible for your skin. The concentrated amount of UV lights can burn skin and lead to premature age spots, wrinkles or sagging.

Smoking Skin Damage and Preventing Wrinkles From Smoking

It may comes as no surprise that smoking is extremely bad for your lungs and heart. However, many people don’t realize that smoking is also very bad for the skin. Smoking can cause the skin to become discolored, age prematurely and wrinkle much faster.  Smoking also destroys the vitamin C in your body which prevents the body from producing the elastin that keeps skin tight. The nicotine in cigarettes can also prevent healthy blood circulation to the skin, causing skin to look dull, and preventing the skin’s cells from getting the oxygen they need to stay replenished and stay looking young and healthy and vibrant.

The Sun – Causes Age Spots, Wrinkles and Dry Skin

The uv light from the tanning booth isn’t the only type of light that will damage the skin. Too much sun will not only make your skin look aged and wrinkled, but it can also lead to age spots or skin cancer later on. It is important to always apply sunscreen or a lotion with at least SPF 15 in it every time you go out in the sun.

Soda and Coffee – The Effects On Your Skin

Drinking too much soda or coffee for the caffeine can actually cause major problems with the skin. Loading up on these types of beverages will dehydrate the body. When skin doesn’t have enough water it not only appears dull and dry but it is more likely to break out with acne. Water helps eliminate waste in the body and from the skin, without enough water to do this, that waste and bacteria will build up and cause acne to form.

Alcohol Skin Damage

Alcohol, like coffee and soda can dehydrate the skin and cause dryness and other problems. However, alcohol can expand the blood vessels in the body to a point where it can cause problems. This will cause red spots to appear on the skin, for the skin to become discolored and for itchiness to occur.

Yourself

While you can do a number of things to keep the skin healthy, you can also serve as one of the biggest threats to your skin. Many people allow themselves to pop, pick or squeeze their pimples. While many people believe it is necessary to pop large zits, its actually quite bad for the skin. Popping a large pimple will generally make the puss and bacteria that fills the zit spread to more areas of the skin. Popping zits can also lead to scarring. The best option for active acne, would be the Cleane Acne Therapy Device, which improves the appearance of acne by up to 90% in just 24 hours!

Many times, getting noticed by members of the opposite sex can be difficult. However, there is more to getting noticed by someone than just your general level of attractiveness. There are several small things anyone can do that will help get them noticed, in a positive way, by members of the opposite sex where ever they go.

Smiling

Smiling is by far the easiest and most straightforward way to get noticed by someone from the opposite sex. Putting a smile on your face will make you look more confident, happier and most importantly, more approachable. People are far more likely to want to engage in a conversation or meet someone who has a friendly smile on their face than with someone who is frowning.

Posture

Posture is something that many people don’t notice, but taking the time to improve your own posture can actually help you get noticed. Sitting up straight or walking with your head held high makes you look far more confident, and appealing to members of the opposite sex. Someone who walks around with strong, confident posture is also going to look more attractive and approachable than someone who is slumped or crouched over.

Be Aware of What You’re Wearing

Being aware of the clothes you wear is an obvious and easy way to get yourself noticed. This doesn’t mean you need to dress up all of the time or you need to wear loud or revealing clothing. However, people that have on clean, properly fitting clothing and that are well groomed are more likely to get noticed by a member of the opposite sex. A flattering and well put together outfit, even if it is for the gym, can also help you feel and act more confident.

Adopt a Friendly Attitude

The most basic rule to remember when trying to get noticed by a member of the opposite sex is that friendly people are far more likely to get noticed in a positive way. Being genuinely friendly gives people an automatic positive opinion of you and can help get you noticed. Approach other people, open doors, pull out chairs or help an elderly person across the street. Simple acts of kindness often do not go unnoticed and can draw the type of positive attention you want.

Get Involved

Even the most attractive people won’t get noticed if they simply stand in the corner all the time. The only way to get noticed by other people is to be around other people. Make an effort to get out in public whether it is at the grocery store or out at a bar, and remember all of the other tips about being friendly and approachable. A great way to do this and put yourself in a situation where you are forced to interact with others is to volunteer, join a club or get involved in a local place of worship, or charity.

With the tips above, you can become more vibrant, happier and meet some great new friends.  But if you feel you need that extra boost first, you could try subliminal mp3’s which enable you to boost your confidence without even thinking about it.  Visit http://www.subliminalmp3s.com/subliminal-boost-self-confidence

Collagen is an important protein in the body that helps to produce skin, muscles and ligaments. Many times as skin sags, wrinkles or forms other cosmetic issues, it is due to an inadequate amount of collagen. Also, as people age, the amount of collagen the body naturally produces also decreases. Luckily, there are several foods you can eat that will help to promote collagen growth in the body so you can look and feel great. Look for foods that contain the following vitamins or nutrients and you will see improved skin quality as your body starts to produce higher levels of collagen.

Vitamin C

Foods rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, can not only help boost the immune system but this vitamin is also an essential component of the collagen production process. Other foods that contain vitamin C include leafy greens, broccoli, mangos and green peppers.

Niacin or Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, is a vitamin that not only helps to enhance the look of skin, but studies have also have shown that it enhances the body’s ability to produce collagen. Incorporating vitamin B3 into the diet with food or supplements can drastically improve the look of skin. Vitamin B3 can be found in foods such as swordfish tuna, peanuts, beets and sunflower seeds.

Copper

Copper is a mineral that not only acts as an antioxidant, preventing free radicals from damaging the skin, but according to several studies it is essential for the body to be able to produce collagen. Low copper levels in the body can lead to lower collagen production levels and a decrease in skin’s elasticity. Good sources of copper include mushrooms, peanuts and clams, copper can also be taken in pill form and is in many multivitamins. (Scientia Nutrition MultiVitamins are an excellent choice).

Soy

Soy is full of an isoflavone called genistein. Genistein in soy is able to enhance the speed and production of collagen in the body. Soy can be ingested through supplements or you can eat soybeans or soy based cheeses. Another easy way to get soy into your diet is to switch your dairy milk for soy milk.

Lycopenes

Lycopene, which is found in bright red, yellow and orange foods is another often overlooked source to help boost the rate of collagen production in the body and help your body consistently produce more collagen and elastin. Look for bright foods such as tomatoes, red, yellow and orange peppers, carrots and sweet potatoes, as these are all a great source of lycopenes.

A simple change to your diet can make a big difference in the quality of your skin over time, but to give yourself a real chance at success in today’s busy world, try Scientia Nutrition MultiVitamins from http://www.scientia-nutrition.com

What are C Section Scars ?

Women who undergo a C-section (also known as Caesarean section, Caesarian section, Cesarean section etc) while giving birth are often left with unsightly and potentially embarrassing scars. The seemingly impossible to remove C section scar is often quite large and can make women uncomfortable when exposing their stomachs. There are very few treatments that can effectively reduce the appearance of these large scars. However scar treatments that increase the body’s production of collagen can serve as an excellent C Section scar remover.

C-section scars, also known as Atrophic scars, are made of a fibrous tissue that acts as a barrier just like normal skin, but doesn’t have the same cosmetic appearance to it. These scars are often discoloured, sunken in and quite noticeable. When the body is healing after C-section stitches have been removed, ity produces collagen fibres and skin tissues that help the skin return back to its normal state. However, there is often not enough collagen produced to make the skin look as aesthetically pleasing as it did before the C-section, which is why there is such a demand for effective ways of removing C Section scars. It is the lack of collagen that prevents these scars from healing fully.

C Section Scar Treatment

Treatments that help stimulate the skin’s natural collagen production on the Dermis layer of the skin can greatly improve the look of scarred skin. These methods of C Section scar reduction are among the most effective ways to permanently get Caesarean scars (and many other forms of scarring)  looking  like natural skin again.

Luckily for women who wish to take advantage of this method of treatment for C-section scars, there is an inexpensive collagen stimulating system available. The Scientia Derma Roller allows users to quickly and safely stimulate the skin around the scar on a regular basis, marvelling at the way it helps to get rid of C Section scars ( and many other forms of scarring).

Is There an At Home Way to Treat C Section Scars?

The Scientia Derma roller is a simple, small handheld skin roller that is covered with 192 surgical micro needles. These needles are so small in size they do not hurt or damage the skin at all once they come in contact with the Dermis layer. Instead these needles help increase circulation, collagen production and elasticity in the skin naturally in an easy and painless manner. There is a slight tingle, but when used gently, you soon get used to the sensation, making the removal of C section scars a breeze!  The Scientia Derma roller is completely safe to use on the area of the skin where the Cesarean section scar is, as it uses a process called skin micro-needling or collagen induction therapy, or CIT. The process of CIT is completely safe and recognised by many cosmetic surgeons as an effective method of treating C Section scars. Most importantly it is a quick and inexpensive way to permanently remove C-section scars in the comfort of your own home. The Roller is not only fantastic at C section scar removal, it can help with many other forms of scarring as well!
